Senior Finance Officer
The Shire of Wandering has an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Officer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our finance department, contributing to the efficient processing of journals, reconciliations, and financial reports. Responsibilities include:
- Daily bank statement processing and complete the bank reconciliations
- Complete and coordinate the completion of month end general ledger reconciliations
- Process assets, plant and associated transactions
- Coordinate day to day investment transactions
- Assist with audit preparation and compile required documentation
- Provide the team with general accounting support and guidance
- Providing backup support to the Finance Officer – Creditors and Payroll
- Providing backup support to the Rates Officer
- Providing backup customer service support for the Shire and Australia Post
The successful candidate should have relevant finance experience with general journals, general ledger reconciliations, general accounting and financial reporting, ideally with a Diploma or Degree in Accounting or a business-related qualification, however this is not essential.

This is a part-time position, the hours are flexible depending on experience, at a minimum it is two days per week.
The benefits of working with us
- Salary package range of $69,430 - $72,561 per annum, pro rata dependent on qualifications and experience. In addition up to 16% superannuation (with Council superannuation contribution).
